Athlete Blood Data Analyzer Orreco Raises $3.6 Million

Irish sports performance and data science company Orreco announced a $3.6 million funding round led by True Ventures. PGA Tour golfers Padraig Harrington and Graeme McDowell are also investors in the company.  

Orreco’s @thlete platform analyzes a player’s blood tests, sleep data, playing schedule, air miles traveled, and performance data from wearable devices. That data is aggregated to produce individualized training programs equipped with nutrition, workload, and recovery recommendations. 

NBA teams such as the Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, and Los Angeles Clippers are clients of Orreco, and so are Newcastle United FC and Chelsea FC Women of English soccer. Orreco’s new funding will go toward hiring staff across its offices in Ireland, London, and Los Angeles.
