U.K. Sporting Venues Selected to Administer Vaccine Shots

The U.K. government announced that seven venues will be converted into COVID-19 vaccination hubs, including some that normally host sporting events. Those include the Manchester Tennis Center and Ashton Gate Stadium, home to Bristol City FC and the Bristol Bears.

Other sports-related U.K. venues to distribute the vaccine will include the Epsom Downs horse racing track in Surrey as well as Excel London, which hosted events at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Other vaccination hubs designated by the U.K. government include the Robertson House in Stevenage, the Centre for Life science village in Newcastle and Millennium Point in Birmingham.

Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur also offered its London-based stadium to administer vaccine shots, but it was not among the seven venues selected by the government, according to the BBC.
