NASCAR Exec VP and Chief Marketing & Content Officer JILL GREGORY "has been named" Sonoma Raceway Exec VP & GM, according to Thomas Gase of the VALLEJO TIMES-HERALD. Gregory replaces STEVE PAGE, who announced his retirement last August after "nearly three decades at the helm of Sonoma Raceway." In NASCAR's Charlotte-based operations, Gregory "leads the marketing, media, communications, broadcasting and diversity and inclusion functions" for the association. She also is "responsible for the sanctioning body's digital platform, including NASCAR.com, the NASCAR Mobile app and fantasy games." Gregory "will continue in her current role through January pending transition plans and begin in her new position at Sonoma Raceway Feb. 1." During her time at NASCAR, Gregory "revamped NASCAR's marketing, content and fan development strategies to elevate strategic planning and enhance collaboration across the industry." She also "launched the effort to refresh and modernize the NASCAR brand, significantly elevated the sport's diversity and inclusion platform" (VALLEJO TIMES-HERALD, 1/6). In Charlotte, Alex Andrejev notes Gregory "will return to her West Coast roots and the track where she attended her first NASCAR road course race as a teenager" (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 1/6).
