Amazon's 49ers-Cardinals Stream Draws Smattering Of Complaints

Amazon Prime provided several options on how to watch 49ers-Cardinals on SaturdayGetty Images

The majority of people watching Amazon Prime's telecast of 49ers-Cardinals on Saturday "were able to catch the game without any issues," but there were some fans who "complained of the streamer's botched game broadcast," according to Alexandra Del Rosario of DEADLINE.com. People took to social media to "express their dismay with the game broadcast," with some saying they "experienced choppy video during the game." While some fans "were able to catch parts of the game, though with choppy images, other fans could not watch the stream at all." Prime Video issued a statement that read, "Our data shows that millions of Prime Video customers enjoyed a high quality and reliable streaming experience for the 49ers-Cardinals game. There were reports of isolated local connectivity and broadband issues, which were unrelated to the Prime Video broadcast" (DEADLINE.com, 12/26).

SCOUTS' HONOR: NBCSPORTS.com's Peter King notes Amazon Prime provided viewers with several options on how to watch. There was CBS' Andrew Catalon and James Lofton on the "standard broadcast" and Hannah Storm and Andrea Kremer on the "Prime feed." A "scouts' feed" featured former NFL scouts Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks, hosted by Joy Taylor. And former NFLers Chris Long and Andrew Hawkins were "talking football over the game on Twitch." King writes he "watched the scouts feed mostly." King: "It's a good option, particularly when the analysts are willing to be critical. ... Cool to hear smart, unfiltered talk on an NFL telecast. I'd be bullish on a streaming package of games with multiple analyst options. Hope it happens" (NBCSPORTS.com, 12/28).
