Oakland Coliseum, RingCentral Set To Hit Redial On Naming Rights

The Oakland Coliseum is "nearing a new deal" for the ballpark's naming rights with California-based telecom company RingCentral, according to Ted Andersen of the S.F. BUSINESS TIMES. The Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority on Friday "will vote on a resolution to authorize its executive director to negotiate a deal" to rename the venue RingCentral Coliseum. The proposed agreement "runs for three years for an initial payment of $450,000," with an "additional monthly payment of up to $15,000 during Covid-19" and an annual payment of $1.1M thereafter. The deal also "stipulates an additional $200,000 for the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority to implement the naming rights agreement, though it's unclear what that means." The Authority in January "pulled back from a naming-rights contract it made with RingCentral after a conflict-of-interest scandal scuttled" the $1M-a-year, three-year deal (BIZJOURNALS.com, 12/15).
