The state of Ohio will allow the Univ. of Cincinnati to "host nearly 6,000 fans at Nippert Stadium" for Saturday's AAC Championship game, according to Keith Jenkins of the CINCINNATI ENQUIRER. Ohio Department of Health Dir Stephanie McCloud notified UC AD John Cunningham that it was "approving an attendance variance for 5,831 spectators for the game" between UC and the Univ. of Tulsa. Nippert Stadium has a fixed seating capacity of 32,574, including bowl seats and seats in clubs and suites. Tickets for the AAC title game went on sale to UC season-ticket holders at 11:00am ET today. Tickets start at $29. UC made a "limited number of additional student tickets available for $10." UC said that spectators "will be grouped in pods of two, four or six individuals with 6 feet of social distancing between pods," with every other row as well as aisle seats "marked as unavailable." Suite capacity "will be reduced to up to 10 individuals in each suite." UC has played all of its home games this season in front of a "limited crowd comprised mostly of just family members of both teams and UC's band and spirit squads" (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 12/16).
