The NBA G League has signed a content partnership with sports media brand Overtime. The two sides will collaborate to create video content around NBA G League games, events, and behind-the-scenes features.
Overtime will produce highlights and an episodic docuseries that follows the NBA G League Ignite team, which will play its inaugural season in 2021. Ignite players include teenage prospects Jalen Green and Isaiah Todd. The team intends to serve as an alternative to college basketball, offering elite prospects endorsement opportunities and salaries that reach up to $500,000.
“This is the perfect partnership since, at our core, we tell the stories of the athletes our under-35 audience cares about most. We have been sharing the journeys of players, including many on the Ignite team, for years now as they rise the ranks,” Overtime president Zack Weiner said in a news release.
Overtime’s popularity among Gen Z sports fans has seen it accumulate more than 40 million followers across its digital and social platforms. NBA stars such as Kevin Durant, Victor Oladipo, Baron Davis, and Carmelo Anthony have invested in Overtime.
