Odyssey & Oracle: MLB Net Host Ranks Giants' Home As Top Park

With news of Rogers Centre potentially being replaced in the coming years, MLB Network’s Chris Russo took a look at the best MLB ballparks built since ’92 and listed Oracle Park as his favorite venue. Russo said, “The Giants sometimes try to sell the park to you a little too much. It’s almost like they’re more proud of the park than the three championships … but you can argue with it with the beach and with the bay.” Camden Yards came in second, with Russo saying, “Part of this is the history of it. This is the first one of its kind in ’92 … and has stood the test of time.” He rounded out the top five with Petco Park, PNC Park and Target Field. Russo laid out three things he looks for in a ballpark -- proximity to downtown, having “some moments in your ballpark, even a brand new one, where there’s a little history to it,” and a venue that still attracts fans. He did throw a disclaimer that this “is not a perfect list,” as he admittedly has not been to some of MLB’s newest parks, including Globe Life Field and Truist Park ("High Heat," MLB Network, 12/1).
