Army's Nike-designed uniforms for its annual game against Navy will honor the "contributions of the U.S. Army's 25th Infantry Division, which fought in the Pacific Theater during World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War," according to Ken McMillan of the Middletown TIMES HERALD-RECORD. The uniforms "celebrate icons of the 25th Infantry Division, nicknamed 'Tropic Lightning.'" They feature an "olive green top with huge white numbers on the front and back, a white wolfhound insignia on the shoulder and a similar decal on the back of the helmet." The dark-gray pants "feature the name 'Wolfhounds' in white lettering up the side of the leg." The helmet also is "olive green with a decal of the division’s iconic shoulder insignia, a lightning bolt superimposed on a taro leaf, the red and gold colors representing the former Hawaiian monarchy." The game "will be played at West Point for the first time since 1943" after it was moved from Philadelphia due to coronavirus concerns (Middletown TIMES HERALD-RECORD, 12/1). In Annapolis, Bill Wagner notes the Dec. 12 game "marks the 13th consecutive season" Army and Navy "will wear special uniforms" (Annapolis CAPITAL GAZETTE, 12/1).
