NFL Jets Help Organize Online Mentoring Event For Women

Twenty-seven female NFL Jets employees last week "participated in an online mentoring program for women run by the affiliate of the nonprofit Dress For Success" as part of a collaboration with the team, according to Dennis Waszak Jr. of the AP. There were 11 women mentored during the event, which "began as an idea" by Jets VP/HR & Administration Jessica Mandler. She had "weekly meetings since the pandemic began with the team's three other female VPs" about what they "could do as an organization to help encourage and empower women." Dress For Success Northern New Jersey-10 Counties Exec Dir Kim Iozzi and the Jets "huddled up to create a game plan that would benefit those participating as clients" and those "serving as mentors." The program included the Jets employees "using Zoom breakout rooms to review and improve the clients' resumes and cover letters, as well as holding mock interviews and offering tips for their LinkedIn accounts and suggestions about searching for employment opportunities" (AP, 11/24).
