Fox' Jamie Little To Make History As TV Voice Of ARCA Menards Series

Little will become the first woman to serve as a TV voice of a national motorsports seriesFOX SPORTS

Fox Sports this week will announce that Jamie Little has been named as the "play-by-play announcer for the ARCA Menards Series," which will make her the "first woman to serve as the television voice of a national motorsports series," according to Richard Deitsch of THE ATHLETIC. Little’s first race as the lead voice "comes Feb. 13" with the Lucas Oil 200 at Daytona Int'l Speedway. She "will work with analyst Phil Parsons and reporter Katie Osborne for Fox Sports’ schedule of eight races on FS1." Deitsch notes racing circuits "have had female on-air broadcasters" including Little and current Fox NASCAR host Shannon Spake and NASCAR reporter Kaitlyn Vincie. And SiriusXM NASCAR Radio host Claire B. Lang is a "pioneer when it comes to the audio/radio side." Little "will call the full slate" of Fox' ARCA races while "continuing her usual role as the pit reporter for the Xfinity and Cup Series races," a role she has had since '15. To prepare for the new assignment, Little "will travel to Charlotte prior to the start of the ARCA Menards Series to call some practice races with Parsons." Little said, “It’s a different skill set and being that I haven’t officially done it yet, I don’t know how it will work for me." But she added, "I do know my style from so many years of being part of racing is that I bring a lot of energy" (THEATHLETIC.com, 11/16).
