The MLBPA today announced the additions of three senior execs to the union, including naming TATIA MAYS-RUSSELL as its new CFO. The union also appointed MICHAEL ONEILL to the new position of Chief Human Resources Officer and hired SILVIA ALVAREZ as Associate Dir of Int'l & Domestic Communications, also a new position. Mays-Russell, ONeill and Alvarez will be based in N.Y. and have all started their new jobs in recent weeks. Mays-Russell and ONeill will report to MLBPA COO XAVIER JAMES. Alvarez will report to MLBPA Dir of Communications CHRIS DAHL. Mays-Russell was most recently Deputy Chief of Strategic Initiatives at the N.Y. Metropolitan Transportation Authority and was National Lacrosse League CFO prior to that. She replaces MARIETTA DICAMILLO, who retired earlier this year. ONeill most recently was Chief Human Resources Officer for law firm Wilson Elser, LLP, but has worked at several companies, including private equity firm Warburg Pincus, IT consulting firm Richard Fleischman & Associates, Inc. and Guggenheim Partners, LLC. Alvarez had been First Horizon National Corp. Senior VP & Dir of Corporate Communications, and has previously worked in communications roles for U.S. Sen. CORY BOOKER (D-N.J.) and MICHAEL BLOOMBERG when he was mayor of N.Y.
