Media Notes

On Long Island, Neil Best writes WFAN hopes the return of Craig Carton to the station today "will begin a period of schedule tranquility." The first step "toward normalcy will be morning co-host Gregg Giannotti's return to WFAN's Manhattan studios to rejoin Boomer Esiason for the first time since March." Carton "will join Evan Roberts on a retooled afternoon show." The goal is to "draw big ratings and revenue, of course, but also to obviate the need for further changes anytime soon in afternoons" (NEWSDAY, 11/9).

DOWN A MAN: In Miami, Greg Cote notes his son, Chris Cote, was "among the network's massive layoffs announced in a company-wide internal memo last Thursday." Cote worked on the "Dan Le Batard Show With Stugotz," as "one of the show's producers with a frequent on-air presence." He had been part of the show since '12 and "full-time with ESPN the past five years" (MIAMI HERALD, 11/9).
