Mavericks Owner MARK CUBAN "shelled out $250,000" for a 20% stake in vegan-meats startup Mrs. Goldfarb's Unreal Deli. Cuban said that he believes the business, which has forecasted $3M in revenue for the current year, "has the potential" to hit $50M in sales. Big distributors including Whole Foods and Quizno's have "both begun testing the fledgling brand" (N.Y. POST, 11/3). 

NAMES: CHARLES BARKLEY is donating $1M to Tuskegee Univ., his "fifth major donation to a historically black college" (AL.com, 11/2)....The Dolphins' youth programs "held their eighth 'Junior Dolphins Donations presented by Baptist Health' at Boynton Beach High School" yesterday evening. Boynton High "received cleats donated from the Dolphins, and new sleds," while student-athletes received "meals along with ... fit kits" (PALM BEACH POST, 11/3).

IN MEMORY: Suns and WNBA Phoenix Mercury co-Owner RICHARD "DICK" HECKMANN died Saturday in Rancho Mirage, Calif., at 76. Heckmann, a "successful businessman and philanthropist, was the founder, director or part-owner of an array of businesses including the multi-billion-dollar water company US Filter," the Suns, Mercury, Callaway Golf, sporting goods manufacturer K2, Nuverra Environmental Solutions and others. He died from "complications related to multiple system atrophy, a degenerative neurological disorder similar to Parkinson's disease" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 11/3).
