RAY STALLONE, who has run the HBO Sports communications department for the past 25 years, left the company last month. Stallone’s departure comes two months after PETER NELSON stepped down as HBO Sports President following a five-year stint and two years after HBO Sports exited the boxing business. Stallone said he will look to re-enter the sports media world in the first part of ’21 “as this pandemic hopefully subsides.” Before landing at HBO Sports, Stallone worked at The Baseball Network from ‘93-95 (John Ourand, THE DAILY).

EXECS: The Braves hired SCOTT WAID to be their new Senior VP/Technology Systems. Waid, previously a Senior VP at Equifax, begins today and will report to Braves President & CEO DEREK SCHILLER (BIZJOURNALS.com, 11/2)....The USL named MiLB Dir of Marketing & Business Strategy CORY BERNSTINE Senior Dir of Strategy. Bernstine, who begins in his new role today, will lead the ideation and execution of the short and long-term business and commercial strategy of the USL (THE DAILY).
