Unmasked World Series Celebrations, Big Ten Returns, and The Masked Rider

The Los Angeles Dodgers won their first World Series since 1988 on Tuesday, vanquishing the Tampa Bay Rays, 3-1, in Game 6 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. But it didn’t come without controversy of the COVID-19 variety. Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner (red beard, center) was removed from Tuesday’s decisive Game 6 after MLB found out during the game that his most recent COVID-19 test came back positive. Turner ignored safety protocols by returning to be part of Dodgers’ on-field celebration. MLB is investigating Turner's actions. (Ronald Martinez/Getty Images)

The San Francisco 49ers and Foxconn will launch the world’s first in-stadium 8K video system at Levi’s Stadium during the team’s Thursday Night Football matchup against the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 5. Foxconn has set up five 8K cameras at Levi’s Stadium to capture full-field replay views for the venue’s video boards; this will allow operators to zoom-in without losing picture quality.

As shown in the above image, Foxconn trialed its 8K technology at Levi’s Stadium last year against the Los Angeles Rams (only two cameras were used for that trial). Due to the coronavirus, fans have not been allowed to attend 49ers home games this season, and no date has been set for their return. (Courtesy of the 49ers)
