PGA Tour, LPGA Set To Bring Back Some Fans At Start Of '21 Seasons

The PGA Tour's Sentry Tournament of Champions is "on track to host its annual event with a limited amount of fans onsite" in '21 when it returns to Kapalua from Jan. 7-10, according to the MAUI NEWS. The tournament's venue -- The Aloha Club -- will be "designed with health and safety protocols in mind, specifically laid out to focus on social distancing." The number of tickets to be available is "still to be determined," but ticketed guests "will be limited to the area of the venue and will not be permitted to roam the course." A limited number of spectators are being allowed at the Bermuda Championship this week and at next week’s Houston Open (MAUI NEWS, 10/30). 

LPGA TO START YEAR WITH FANS, TOO: The AFP reported the LPGA will open its season "with spectators" at its Tournament of Champions on Jan. 21-24 in Orlando. The event, which "mixes top players and celebrities," will be held in Orlando as "part of a three-year contract extension announced Thursday with Diamond Resorts." A "limited number of spectators will be allowed to attend" following state, local and CDC guidelines, "including medical screenings, daily temperature checks, face masks and social distancing" (AFP, 10/29).
