Binge Watching With UNICEF USA's Shanell Mosley

As a big kid at heart, Mosley's Halloween picks trend toward the lightheartedShanell Mosley

On this most special (and spooky) of weeks -- with UNICEF USA readying to celebrate its 70th Trick-or-Treat campaign -- THE DAILY caught up with UNICEF USA Deputy Dir of Sports Partnerships SHANELL MOSLEY to break down what’s on her watchlist. Some responses have been edited for clarity and brevity:

Halloween Picks:

  • I’m a big-ol’ scaredy cat, so “A BABYSITTER’S GUIDE TO MONSTER HUNTING” is right up my alley. You can always catch me watching “kid-friendly” spooky movies, such as this one, because they are full of lighthearted surprises and delights. Plus, let’s be honest: I’m a big kid.
  • LOCKE & KEY” is about as “scary” as I can get! I binge watched the entire first season within a few days. I compare this show to an even more thrilling/scary version of “THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA” meets “HARRY POTTER.” I love the fantasy angle with a sprinkle of horror. Can’t wait for Season 2!

Other Top Choices:

  • RUTH BADER GINSBURG was bold, iconic, honest, intelligent and notorious, making “RBG” a must-watch. I’m inspired by how she paved the way for so many women and men. She may have been small but, whew, she was so mighty!
  • My purpose is to help others find their purpose, and “THE BOY WHO HARNESSED THE WIND” reminds me why I work with UNICEF and sports. I’ve traveled the world with athletes and leagues so they can use their platforms. This is a story of hope and innovation, a snapshot into how young people and communities around the world create real-life solutions to everyday challenges with scarce resources.
  • From JAY-Z to MALALA, from LIZZO to BARACK OBAMA, on “MY NEXT GUEST NEEDS NO INTRODUCTION WITH DAVID LETTERMAN,” some of the most dynamic influencers speak about their personal journeys, career successes, humanitarian work, mental health, social justice and impactful moments in their lives.
