49ers Add Joovv Light Therapy Room at Levi’s Stadium

The San Francisco 49ers have partnered with Joovv, the maker of light-therapy devices, to build a dedicated space for their treatments. The Joovv Recovery Room is adjacent to the 49ers’ locker room at Levi’s Stadium.

The reigning NFC champions began using Joovv devices during the 2019 season, offering players access to light therapy after games and practices. Joovv’s product line includes devices that emit red light, near infrared (NIR) light and a combination of both called Recovery+. Red light is said to aid the healing of surface skin and tissue, whereas NIR assists deeper tissue recovery and the easing of inflammation.

“Light therapy allows us to provide a player’s body with an extremely valuable resource that is proven to support the body’s natural inflammation process, increase cellular regeneration and aid in sleep optimization,” Elliot Williams, the 49ers’ director of functional performance, said in a statement.
