The Mobile Locker Co. Ready For Action As Venues Begin Welcoming Back Fans

The Mobile Locker Co., which is providing its secure onsite storage services at the World Series, recently renewed its partnership with the Cowboys and AT&T Stadium and struck a deal with the Patriots and Gillette Stadium. Company Founder & CEO Molly O'Connor said longer-term engagements typically are with the venue, which is the case with AT&T Stadium and Gillette Stadium, as well as for the World Series with Globe Life Field. While fans have returned to the Texas facilities, Massachusetts has not yet taken that step amid the COVID-19 pandemic. O'Connor: "We try to keep our finger on the pulse of what's being reported -- so we’re not getting any inside information, unfortunately. But we've got all our Google alerts set up and we’re checking all of our local channels waiting for any good news." Even as venues reopen, the need of protecting attendees has added a second layer, according to O'Connor. She believes stricter bag guidelines that are now being implemented will not be scaled back. O'Connor: "We're just going to see the demand grow and we are seeing that in the proportionate sales in the events that we are doing."

WHAT LIES AHEAD: The Boston-based company has worked with the Mets, Magic, Orlando City SC, the NFL Draft and Raymond James Stadium. O'Connor said there was a deal in place to be at Braves games following the All-Star Game, but the pandemic pushed those plans to '21. She said, "People are realizing that life will go back to normal at some time, but the need for a service like ours is even stronger. We were looking at a really exciting summer pre-COVID working with some MLB teams and working some big events, going full speed." Those plans were put on hold, but The Mobile Locker Co. was proactive in reaching out to its partners and telling them it wants to remain flexible and understanding to their needs. O'Connor said the message was, "We're going to be here for you when we are all ready to start planning again." When fans do return, The Mobile Locker Co. only needs 48 hours notice to be ready.

STORE AND GO: The trucks have three different sized lockers with 400 lockers per truck. New trucks that will be rolling out soon have 460 lockers that are larger than what is currently used. There are no restrictions on bag sizes but changes have been made in response to the pandemic. Among them:

  • All of its staff wear masks and gloves
  • Contactless payment
  • All customers in line must wear a mask
  • No more than six people in the truck at a time
  • The trucks are cleaned and disinfected before, during and after each game
  • Locker keys are sanitized upon their return.
