SEC's Sankey Shows Leadership Through Complexities Of Pandemic

SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey addressed the challenges his conference has faced regarding COVID-19, saying they are "not any different from the challenges we faced in March when we had to stop a basketball tournament or interrupt baseball, softball and tennis." Sankey in an interview on ESPN's "College GameDay" said, "This has been a season of adjustment, and flexibility is the key word for us all." ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit said of Sankey, “You have to be really impressed with his steady hand as a leader, because if you look around the country, leadership in this particular area is lacking. And as far as college football is concerned, universally, it’s been lacking going back to March, April and May.” Herbstreit added, “With Greg, you just feel like he hasn’t panicked. When the world around him has gotten everybody all concerned, he just kind of righted the ship with great leadership” (“College GameDay,” ESPN, 10/17).
