Syracuse's Carrier Dome Sees Roof Leak Amid Ongoing Renovation

The sight of water dripping inside of Syracuse's $118M Carrier Dome investment on Saturday only signals that the school "continues to do work both inside and outside the building," as the leak is "simply the product of a continuing process to seal the roof," according to Chris Carlson of the Syracuse POST-STANDARD. The lack of finishing touches on the renovated building "produced an occasional drip over portions of the bleachers on Saturday." Syracuse "did not say when the sealing would be completed." Visitors to the campus over the past two weeks "have been able to spot workers on the roof almost daily, even after the final pieces of the roof were positioned in place." After the game against Georgia Tech two weeks ago, the football field was "covered with plastic sheeting, an indication that the school was continuing work." There also are "pieces of construction equipment positioned in some spots in the stadium's hallways." Between the first two games, the school "added additional paint to some walls that brightened the building" (Syracuse POST-STANDARD, 10/13).
