Dodgers To Host Drive-In Watch Parties At Dodger Stadium For NLCS

The Dodgers will "host drive-in viewing parties in the Dodger Stadium parking lot for fans who want to experience a postseason game with other Dodgers fans," according to Chris Cwik of YAHOO SPORTS. Fans can drive in for $75. There will be "multiple 60-foot screens broadcasting the game," and the team will "pipe in the radio broadcast." It will be "treated as if it’s a drive-in movie," and because of that, fans "will not be allowed to leave their cars unless they have to use the bathroom." Concessions "will not be available at the viewing party," but fans are "encouraged to bring food and drink to enjoy in their cars." The Dodgers "will not allow fans to bring alcohol to the event" (SPORTS.YAHOO.com, 10/9). The Dodgers said that 1,000 tickets "would be available for each game" and that "they would reserve the right to adjust the price for each day at any time" (L.A. TIMES, 10/10).

BRAVES CONTINUING WATCH PARTIES: The Braves "will continue to host watch parties at Truist Park" for the NLCS. The team has "four experiences available for purchase," with the first three being priced at $10, $20, and $50. The Infiniti Club Suites can be purchased for $1,500 and "includes a $750 food and beverage credit for catering." Fans are "asked to remain socially distant in line at the gates," and "all fans will undergo a temperature check before entering the stadium" (MARIETTA DAILY JOURNAL, 10/10).

FINAL FOUR SHOWS IMPACT OF DODGERS EXEC: In L.A., Bill Shaikin writes the MLB playoffs final four is a "tribute" to Dodgers President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman, and the exec tree he "planted in Tampa Bay, where he took the Rays from worst to first in two years." The ALCS features the Rays, "built into a contender by Friedman," and the Astros, now run by GM James Click, "hired away from the Rays." The NLCS: the Dodgers against the Braves, "run by one of Friedman’s former lieutenants," Alex Anthopoulos, now Exec VP & GM of Atlanta  (L.A. TIMES, 10/11).
