Hyperice Valued at $700M After NBA, NFL Investments

Hyperice, which makes therapeutic devices for athletes, claims to be worth $700 million after raising $47.8 million in its latest funding round. The NBA, 32 Equity, and OneTeam all contributed to the round. 32 Equity is the investment arm of the NFL; OneTeam was co-founded by the NFLPA and MLBPA.

A number of star athletes also contributed to Hyperice’s latest round, including Naomi Osaka, Patrick Mahomes, Anthony Davis, Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook, J.J. Watt, Kelly Slater, Rickie Fowler, Jarvis Landry, Christian McCaffrey, Ja Morant, Ben Simmons, Fernando Tatís Jr, Trae Young, Seth Curry and DeAndre Jordan.

Hyperice has also become the official recovery technology partner of the NBA and UFC.  The company says its new funding will be used to continue developing its connected fitness platform HyperSmart, which analyzes a user’s wearable data from apps such as Apple Health and Strava to recommend workout routines.
