DraftKings and some early investors, including Patriots Owner ROBERT KRAFT, are "taking advantage of the stock's 264 percent surge from an April debut to sell a combined 32 million shares." The offering, underwritten by Credit Suisse Securities and Goldman Sachs Group, "will include 16 million shares sold by DraftKings while the other half are being offered by some investors." DraftKings said that its proceeds from the offering "will be used for general corporate purposes." SHALOM MECKENZIE, a billionaire Israeli exec who merged his company with DraftKings in April, "led investors by registering to sell 8.5 million shares." Meckenzie "will still be among DraftKings' largest shareholders despite dumping more than $500 million in stock." Raine Capital and Kraft were "among others who filed to sell" (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 10/5). 

DONATIONS: Mavericks Owner MARK CUBAN has "donated to the families of ambushed sheriff’s deputies" in L.A. County. Each family "will receive $50,000" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 10/4)....Former MLBer WILL MIDDLEBROOKS started a fundraiser to "support the cost of a funeral and memorial service" for his friend and former teammate JONATHAN PRICE, who was shot and killed by a police officer in Texas. As of yesterday, it had "exceeded its goal of $50,000" (BOSTON GLOBE, 10/6). 

NAMES: Klutch Sports Group's RICH PAUL said that Trail Blazers G GARY TRENT JR. has signed with the agency. Paul and agent LUCAS NEWTON "will rep Trent" (TWITTER.com, 10/5). Klutch Sports is "one of the top agencies in the entire NBA, representing players like LEBRON JAMES, ANTHONY DAVIS, DRAYMOND GREEN, BEN SIMMONS, JOHN WALL and many others around the league." Trent is the most recent Klutch signing "since LONZO BALL just a few weeks ago" (SLAMONLINE.com, 10/6)....Kings F HARRISON BARNES was "one of five recipients of the End-of-Season NBA Cares Community Assist Award," along with JAYLEN BROWN, GEORGE HILL, CHRIS PAUL and Mavericks F DWIGHT POWELL (SACRAMENTO BEE, 10/6).
