NASCAR's Jill Gregory Leads Charge Toward Diversity, Innovation

Gregory said her ability to continue to effect change is what has kept her at NASCARNASCAR

NASCAR Exec VP and Chief Marketing & Content Officer JILL GREGORY has "embraced a growing leadership role at NASCAR, in which her ambitious work ethic and progressive vision" has permeated "all facets of the sport to guide it into its next era -- an era that will see more diverse faces, voices and ideas," according to Alex Andrejev of the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER. Gregory said, "The ability for me to continue to (effect) change has been the thing that's kept me at NASCAR for probably longer than I might have expected." From her entry into the sport, "growth has been her goal." Under Gregory's leadership, NASCAR has shifted its advertising dollars "away from television to focus on social media and digital campaigns." Her work with drivers and teams on brand development also has included "feedback on digital strategies and social engagement as much as communicating about the overall direction of the sport." Roush Fenway Racing President STEVE NEWMARK said, "Jill has led the movement for our sport to become more progressive across the board. And that sounds simple, but that's a pretty difficult cultural shift when you're involved in a sport that has been so successful for so long doing it a certain way." Gregory said that "diversity and inclusion" have become her "personal mission" (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 10/4). Gregory was a member of SBJ's inaugural class of Game Changers: Women In Sports Business.
