NBPA Exec Dir MICHELE ROBERTS "declined a seven-figure annual bonus earlier this year," according to a source. Roberts thus joins the "ranks of other high-profile sports executives to forgo compensation in the COVID-19 era." Her compensation fell to $1.47M in the year that ended June 30, 2020. In the previous 12-month period, the NBPA paid her $2.85M, the union’s annual report shows for that year, "meaning her pay fell 48 percent" (THEATHLETIC.com, 9/30).

DONATIONS: Raiders Owner MARK DAVIS "split the difference" in donations to Las Vegas charities, delivering $250,000 each to Opportunity Village and the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 9/30)....Saints S MALCOLM JENKINS began a "new initiative Tuesday called Feed the 504, which plans to feed at least 504 New Orleans families every month between now and the end of the year." Feed the 504 was launched by The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation, in "partnership with Winn-Dixie, Second Harvest Foodbank and the Broadmoor Improvement Association Food Pantry" (NOLA.com, 9/30).

NAMES: The K.C. Star has partnered with Chiefs QB PATRICK MAHOMES and his 15 and the Mahomies foundation to "produce a limited-edition hardcover edition entitled 'Patrick Mahomes: The Rise of a Champion.'" The 160-page commemorative book features "some 200 photos taken by the award-winning KC Star photo staff and excerpts from memorable stories written by KC Star sportswriters and columnists" (K.C. STAR, 10/1)....Warriors coach STEVE KERR will be featured in the Bay Area Book Festival's #UNBOUND, a "two-day series of conversations, presented virtually, with some of Berkeley’s notable thinkers." The event starts on Saturday (San Jose MERCURY NEWS, 10/1). 

IN MEMORIAL: Detroit's WXYT-FM The Ticket yesterday announced that it has named its Southfield studio after late sports-talk radio host JAMIE SAMUELSEN, who died Aug. 1 "after a 19-month battle with colon cancer." Samuelsen was 48 (DETROIT NEWS, 10/1).
