Big Ten Network Planning Coverage Of Challenging Football Season

Staff restrictions for the Big Ten Network will carry over to on-site broadcasts during the seasonGETTY IMAGES

Big Ten Network, with the conference's return of football officially coming Oct. 24, can now "focus on planning for a season that will be filled with challenges," according to Jeff Agrest of the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES. BTN "already is producing shows with as few people as possible in its Chicago studios," and those personnel restrictions "figure to carry into the network’s on-site game coverage." Dave Revsine "still will host 'BTN Tailgate' with analysts Gerry DiNardo and Howard Griffith on Saturday mornings." But, the show "won’t be traveling this season," as the trio "will be in the studio instead of on a campus." Revsine said, “There are going to be strict limitations for how all of that will work, and I think they’re still trying to figure that out, as to how many people can be in particular places at once and how you distance people from one another. That’s still all evolving” (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 9/25).
