Drone Racing League Debuts New Video Game on Xbox

The Drone Racing League has launched a video game on Xbox, the first time it has expanded beyond PC-based gaming and into console entertainment. The Drone Racing League Simulator game on Xbox can be downloaded for $19.99.

Users will be able to play single and multiplayer games on 25 virtual courses. Those courses include replicas of 18 DRL tracks being raced by pro pilots in the 2020 DRL Allianz World Championship Season, which begins Oct. 21.

In previous years, that series has raced in-person at venues across the U.S. Due to the pandemic, pilots will instead compete virtually from their homes using the league’s drone racing simulator, which is same software featured in the new Xbox game.

Those who buy the Xbox game will also be able to compete in DRL’s SIM Tryouts, its annual online simulator tournament that offers winning pilots a contract with the league’s professional circuit.
