LeBron James Addresses Ongoing Violence Happening In L.A.

LeBron James last night said in his 35 years, he has never, "ever condoned violence," according to Tania Ganguli of the L.A. TIMES. James said, "All over America, you continue to see the acts of violence towards my kind, I can't do nothing but to speak about it and see the common denominator. But not one time have I ever said, 'Let's act violent towards cops.' I just said that what’s going on in our community is not OK and we fear for that and we fear for our lives" (L.A. TIMES, 9/23). Meanwhile, in New Orleans, Adelson & Clark reported the city's voters will be "allowed to cast early ballots for president at the Smoothie King Center as part of an effort to accommodate what could be a record-setting number of early voters trying to avoid Election Day coronavirus infection." The Pelicans "join 21 other teams that have announced the use of their buildings for voting, according to a list kept by the NBA" (NOLA.com, 9/22).
