Colts Get Go-Ahead To Host Up To 7,500 Fans In Week 3 Game

The Colts will be allowed to "host up to 7,500 fans at Lucas Oil Stadium Week 3" against the Jets, "up from 2,500 for this Sunday's home opener" against the Vikings, according to Ayello & Sims of the INDIANAPOLIS STAR. With 7,500 fans, Lucas Oil Stadium, which seats around 67,000, will be "filled to about 11% capacity." Colts season-ticket holders were given the "first priority based on seniority to be at the game." Colts COO Pete Ward said that the "hope remains ... that even more fans will be allowed for future home games" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 9/18). In Indianapolis, Michael McCleary writes this is an "experimental week for the Colts." They can "create the best possible protocols -- and members of the organization believe they have -- and they still cannot predict how fans will interact with the experience on gameday until they have a gameday to work with" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 9/18).
