Ninja Rejoins Twitch in Exclusive Streaming Deal

Gaming star Tyler “Ninja” Blevins announced that he has returned to Twitch on an exclusive multi-year streaming deal. The gaming influencer began his career with Amazon-owned Twitch nearly 10 years ago, but he departed in 2019 to join the Microsoft-owned Mixer streaming platform.

Microsoft decided to shut down Mixer in July, which reportedly resulted in Ninja accepting a $30 million buyout from the company. Ninja, who gained global popularity by streaming himself playing Fortnite, had the most followers on Twitch (14.7 million) when he left the platform in August 2019. He officially marked his return to Twitch with a livestream yesterday afternoon.

Ninja’s return to Twitch means he could get back to commentating NFL games on his Twitch channel, which he experimented with in 2018. In April, the NFL extended its partnership with Amazon to continue livestreaming Thursday Night Football games on Amazon Prime Video and Twitch.
