ESPN's Desmond Howard has "signed a multi-year extension as a college football analyst on 'College GameDay,'" and in Detroit, Angelique Chengelis notes he also will "continue to contribute to SportsCenter and College Football Live." Howard, who has been with ESPN since '05, said, "It’s amazing to see the growth of the sport, the growth of the show. To be a part of that has been mind-blowing.” Chengelis notes Howard "has a home at ESPN," and he is "pleased he will be there much longer" (DETROIT NEWS, 9/11).

ANOTHER MILESTONE FOR BURKE: The AP's Joe Reedy noted Doris Burke will "reach another milestone later this month when she calls the conference finals and NBA Finals for ESPN Radio," becoming the "first woman to serve as a game analyst on a network television or radio broadcast this deep into the postseason." She will join Marc Kestecher and Jon Barry on the call. With Burke heading to radio, Rachel Nichols will "become the sideline reporter for the NBA Finals" as well as "continuing to host 'The Jump'" (AP, 9/9).

LUCAS OUT AT SNY: In N.Y., Andrew Marchand reports Ray Lucas will "not be on SNY’s Jets programming this season," as the parties "could not come to a new agreement on a contract." Sources said that the "major sticking point" was money. SNY's Jets postgame show with Lucas has "made some noise over the years." It will now feature a "two-person front" with Jonas Schwartz and Bart Scott (N.Y. POST, 9/11).
