Atlanta Braves Sign Daily Fantasy Sponsorship With PrizePicks

Atlanta-based daily fantasy game PrizePicks has partnered with the hometown Braves on a marketing partnership for the rest of the 2020 MLB season. This follows PrizePicks’ similar agreement with the Miami Marlins earlier this year, as well as its deal with retired Braves legend Andruw Jones in 2019 to become an investor and spokesman in the gaming startup.

PrizePicks is a DFS game in which users make over/under predictions on players’ expected fantasy points. Local broadcasts of Braves games will encourage fans to play PrizePicks, whose mobile app is available on the App Store and Google Play. PrizePicks has also struck partnerships with the American Cornhole League, The Outlaw Golf Tour and SMITE Pro League, an esports circuit.

Florida and Georgia—home to the Marlins and Braves—are among the states that permit DFS but not sports betting. These PrizePicks partnerships offer early brand recognition before sports betting is potentially legalized in those states.

“It’s our broader ambition to build the most premium sports betting brand in the South,” PrizePicks founder and CEO Adam Wexler previously said in an interview with OnlineGambling News.
