Body camera footage released yesterday of an altercation between Raptors President of Basketball Operations MASAI UJIRI and an Alameda County (Calif.) sheriff's deputy during last year's NBA Finals appears to "show the deputy as the aggressor in the incident." The footage was released as "part of a countersuit" filed by Ujiri against sheriff’s deputy ALAN STRICKLAND. In the clips, Ujiri "attempts to walk onto the court" at Oracle Arena moments after the Raptors defeated the Warriors to clinch the NBA championship last June. Ujiri reaches into his suit jacket to show his team credential when Strickland shoves Ujiri and yells at him to "back the (expletive) up" (USA TODAY, 8/19).

NAMES: Sources said that Sun Life Financial is in "advanced talks to acquire Crescent Capital Group," the credit manager company co-founded by Brewers Owner MARK ATTANASIO. The sources added that a transaction "could be announced as soon as this month" (BLOOMBERG NEWS, 8/19)....Swimmer SARAH EHEKIRCHER yesterday filed a civil suit against former USA Swimming coach SCOTT MACFARLAND in Orange County Superior Court, "alleging sexual abuse of a minor, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress." Ehekircher alleges that MacFarland, her swim coach at a Colorado affiliate of the Mission Viejo Nadadores, "raped her in Irvine, as well as Texas, Nevada and Colorado during the summer of 1986 when she was 17" (ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER, 8/19)....Former NFLer OSI UMENYIORA has signed with ICM Partners as he "looks to further his second career in the entertainment business." Umenyiora moved back to his native London in '15 and has been a "fixture on the BBC’s NFL coverage, including headlining 'NFL This Week' and 'The NFL Show'" (DEADLINE.com, 8/18)....Magic F CHUMA OKEKE yesterday "released a record" under the stage name BIG CHUM. The record, titled "Music for Everybody,” features six songs (BIRMINGHAM NEWS, 8/19).
