NFL Media Notes: Seahawks Live Streaming Practice Videos

In Seattle, Adam Jude noted with no fans in attendance, the Seahawks are “having their practices streamed live locally” on KCPQ-Fox and online at both the team’s official website and its official YouTube channel. That is “allowing fans everywhere to get a glimpse of camp.” Around 3,400 people “were watching on YouTube during the middle of Wednesday’s first practice” (SEATTLE TIMES, 8/16).

EN VOZ ALTA: In L.A., Jeff Miller notes the Chargers "will have a new Spanish-language radio voice this season" in Adrian Garcia-Marquez, who is "taking over the play-by-play" on KBUE-FM. He will be reunited with analyst Francisco Pinto, the two "recently having spent six seasons together doing Lakers games" on TV. Both have worked in the L.A. market "for 20-plus years" (L.A. TIMES, 8/17).

PATRIOTS' WAY: The Patriots for the first time “allowed only their own internal media to ‘cover’ practice, and that included about 30 minutes of video footage of stretching, special teams and some positional work.” Approved independent media is “supposed to be allowed to observe the 14 padded practices” that begin today (BOSTONSPORTSJOURNAL.com, 8/13).

SHIFTING COVERAGE: NBCSPORTS.com’s Peter King notes it is “such a different year playing in the NFL,” and “covering it is weird too.” He is taking part in an “abbreviated camp tour” compared to previous years, and there are “no in-person interviews at team facilities.” When talking to Buccaneers QB Tom Brady last week, Brady asked, “Are you in a hotel room right now? … So different for everybody” (NBCSPORTS.com, 8/17).
