Dan Le Batard Offering More Digital Content As Radio Show Shortens

Each hour of Le Batard's radio show will continue to be available in podcast formESPN IMAGES

With ESPN Radio's "The Dan Le Batard Show With Stugotz" losing an hour starting today, co-hosts Le Batard and Jon Weiner "will serve up new regular podcast content, with two fresh offerings daily," according to Barry Jackson of the MIAMI HERALD. The national radio show now will run from 10:00am-noon ET, instead of 1:00pm, and a "new digital-only episode will be recorded and posted before their radio show." And after their radio program airs, Le Batard and Weiner "will offer, as ESPN puts it, 'more thoughts and ramblings' as a digital-only 'post-game show.'" In addition, "each hour of the radio show -- as well as their local hour that has a strong and loyal South Florida audience -- will continue to be available as podcasts." Le Batard and Weiner have a "unique monthly U.S. audience of nearly a million listeners," per ESPN. That makes their podcast the "second-ranked among all sports podcasts" (MIAMI HERALD, 8/16).

GOLIC TALKS RELATIONSHIP WITH GREENBERG: Today is the first day in 20 years Mike Golic is not hosting ESPN Radio's morning show, and he recently appeared on the "Pardon My Take" podcast to talk about his relationship with former co-host Mike Greenberg. Golic said, "It’s been pretty documented that I didn’t like the way that it ended. I would say, Greeny and I, we’ve seen each other since, but he does the morning show with 'Get Up' and I was doing the morning show, so we would have really no interaction in the morning. ... We never really had a lot in common, and I think that’s one of the things that helped make Mike & Mike work a little bit, is that we were so different. We have seen each other at Super Bowls -- we’re cordial, but that’s pretty much it." He added, "In all honesty, there really isn’t much of a relationship anymore. It’s a shame, but that’s just the way it goes sometimes and that’s where it is now. Who knows what the future holds, but right now, that’s pretty much where it is” (THESPUN.com, 8/16).
