FC Cincinnati Launches Initiative To Combat Racial Discrimination

FC Cincinnati is "doubling down its efforts to combat racial discrimination," according to Meg Garner of the CINCINNATI BUSINESS COURIER. The club yesterday announced the launch of its "One Club, One Community, One Goal" platform, which features "both internal and external steps the team is taking to promote racial equality within Greater Cincinnati." According to a news release, the steps FC Cincinnati has already taken include:

• Hiring management consulting firm BRBS World LLC Founder & CEO Janet Reid "to host conversations with the team's technical staff, as well as its players and coaches, about diversity and inclusion."
• Launching a "diversity forum between staff, players and fans to help shape the club's future efforts."
• Creating FC Cincinnati Futures: Development Through Sport, a "new program for high school students to shadow FC Cincinnati staff members so they can gain insight into working in the sports industry" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 8/10).
