The MAC Postpones Its Entire Fall Sports Season

The Mid-American Conference announced on Saturday that it is postponing its fall sports season because of the coronavirus pandemic. The sports affected include football, field hockey, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer, and women’s volleyball.

MAC commissioner Jon Steinbrecher said the conference intends for all fall sports to be held in the spring of 2021. The MAC, which consists of 12 schools located across western New York, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois, is the first FBS conference to not play football this fall. Last week, the University of Connecticut became the first FBS school to cancel its season.
