Media Notes

On Long Island, Neil Best notes CBS has had "two months of practice" carrying PGA Tour events under COVID-19 restrictions, but "things will get a bit more normal this week" when analyst Nick Faldo rejoins Jim Nantz in the broadcast tower for the PGA Championship. Meanwhile, ESPN's Scott Van Pelt -- who also is broadcasting from Harding Park this week -- said, "The energy that a major has, there's something to it. There's an electricity. There's a tension. There's a buzz. There are these roars." But he said of this major: "It'll be -- who knows?" (NEWSDAY, 8/6).
