Steelers Set Deadline For Season-Ticket Holders To Receive Refund

The Steelers set an Aug. 14 deadline for season-ticket holders to "request a full refund or credit for games played with fans in attendance at Heinz Field this season," according to Joe Rutter of TRIBLIVE.com. The Steelers already have "refunded the cost of tickets for the two home preseason games that were canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic," and they will "refund any tickets for games in which fans are not permitted inside Heinz Field this season." The team provided an update to season-ticket holders yesterday through an email "detailing what measures will be taken if fans are allowed to attend any of the eight regular-season home games," which includes a "reduced seating capacity for the 68,400-seat facility that has yet to be finalized." The email: "If it is determined that fans are permitted to attend games, it is highly likely that seating capacity will be greatly reduced to allow for social distancing and other safety measures." Steelers fans who request a refund for the '20 season will "'retain the ability' to renew tickets for 2021 season at their prior seat location." The Steelers said that ticket holders "remain unable to sell tickets online or transfer them electronically" (TRIBLIVE.com, 8/5).
