NBA Marketing Notes: Celtics Get Signature Beer In Brewery Deal

In Boston, Gary Dzen noted Framingham, Mass.-based Jack's Abby is "partnering with the Celtics to create a signature beer, Pride and Parquet, to be released in the late fall or early winter." The collaboration is the "first of its kind for both parties, who say the NBA franchise approached the brewery to start the conversation." Named in part after the Celtics' famed parquet floor at TD Garden, Pride and Parquet "will be an easy-drinking hoppy lager, something Jack's Abby specializes in." Jack's Abby initially "brought a list of about 100 names to the table; all were rejected by the Celtics" (BOSTON.com, 7/30).

THREADS FOR CHANGE: In Miami, Anthony Chiang notes the Heat on Thursday released the new "Black Lives Matter Collection of Court Culture Apparel ... with all of the profits from the sales of the collection going to three organizations -- Black Girls CODE, Health in the Hood and Florida Rights Restoration Coalition." Other shirts in the Heat's Black Lives Matter Collection "feature messages like 'Enough with the Hate,' 'Enough is Enough,' and 'Love Black People the way you Love Black Culture'" (MIAMI HERALD, 7/31).

The one-minute video "revealed two profile silhouettes of the coming Hummers, GMC’s all-electric pickup and SUV due for production" in the fall of '21. James as part of a voiceover says, "The real revolutionaries, the ones that change the game forever, understand that strength is never enough" (AUTOWEEK.com, 7/30).
