ESPN's Greenberg Looks Forward To New Format With Radio Return

Greenberg's return to radio is just one move in a series of ESPN switch-ups of its national lineupESPN IMAGES

ESPN's Mike Greenberg is "making a return to familiar territory" next month with his new radio show, but he hopes to "blaze a different path when he gets there," according to Brian Steinberg of VARIETY. Slated to air from noon-2:00pm ET weekdays starting Aug. 17, "Greeny" will mark the "first time Greenberg will have hosted a radio show since leaving one of sports-radio's most durable vehicles" in '17. Just as Greenberg's daily morning show "Get Up" carries viewers into ESPN's debate programs like "First Take," he "will have a similar assignment on the radio." Max Kellerman, a "First Take" co-anchor, is "making his national radio debut with a program that follows 'Greeny' and is meant to revisit some of the best moments of the daily 'Take.'" Greenberg's return to the medium that "brought him to wider renown is just one move in a series of ESPN switch-ups of its national radio lineup." Greenberg said that he is looking forward to the "chance to spend a long time talking about an issue, or to have more room to maneuver when an important guest pays a visit." Greenberg said listeners "will hear anywhere from three to six different voices with me, depending on the day and the circumstances" (VARIETY.com, 7/28).
