NHL Teaming With Twitter, Disney Streaming To Offer Live Look-Ins

The NHL, Twitter and Disney Streaming Services will offer live look-ins on Twitter for the upcoming Stanley Cup Playoffs. During the Stanley Cup Qualifiers and first two rounds of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the NHL will select two game nights per week that will include live look-ins. Fans will have an opportunity to vote on Twitter via the NHL's account for which games they would like to see featured. For the Qualifiers and the first round, Twitter will live stream the first two minutes of the first period as well as the first two minutes of the third period. In the second round, Conference Finals and Stanley Cup Finals, Twitter will live stream the first two minutes of the first period and the last two minutes of the third period of selected matchups. Each selected game will feature four total minutes of live game action. For the Finals, at least five games will include live look-ins. Featured games will be announced that morning. NHL Senior Exec VP & CMO Heidi Browning said, “NHL fans are fiercely passionate and are among the most engaged sports fans on social media. Everything our fans do shows us they want to have deeper connections with the League and our teams, and this exciting partnership with Twitter and Disney Streaming Services ... provides the perfect platform to facilitate fan interaction and conversation, as well as drive broadcast tune-in. As play resumes Saturday, the #StanleyCup Twitter emoji will return along with unique team logo emojis for all 24 participating clubs. Throughout the playoffs, video highlights will also be featured on the platform while Twitter Moments will be visible during the Conference Finals and Final.

During the four-month pause, the top five most-mentioned NHLers in the U.S. included Devils D PK Subban, Capitals C Alex Ovechkin, Bruins LW Brad Marchand, Bruins RW David Pastrnak and Sharks LW Evander Kane.
