Bills Give Season-Ticket Holders Refunds For '20, Status For '21

The Bills have informed season-ticket holders that they "will keep their status for the 2021 season and they can receive refunds for this year," according to Mark Gaughan of the BUFFALO NEWS. The team on Thursday announced options available to season-ticket holders and the key points include:

  • All season-ticket holders "will maintain their ticket location and account seniority for the 2021 season."
  • Season-ticket holders have the option to "apply any paid money toward their 2020 tickets as an account credit for 2021 or receive refunds."
  • Season-ticket holders who apply money as an account credit "will have exclusive access to 2020 single-game ticket sales for available seats if spectators are permitted." The Bills plan to have "multiple single-game ticket sales throughout the season as seating capacity is determined."
  • Season-ticket holders who apply money as an account credit also will "have access to NFL Membership Club benefits."

Season-ticket holders "must decide by Aug. 14 if they want to opt for a refund or credit their account." The Bills developed models for 15%, 33% and 50% capacity, though any plan "would need to be approved by county and state health officials" (BUFFALO NEWS, 7/24).

ON PAUSE: In Detroit, Dave Birkett notes the Lions are "suspending payments" for '21 season tickets while they "await a decision on what fans if any will be allowed to attend home games this fall." The Lions sent some season-ticket holders an email Thursday noting that they are "halting upcoming payments for fans who pay in monthly installments." The August payment was "scheduled to be the first toward the 2021 season" (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 7/24).
