Univ. of Michigan AD WARDE MANUEL, football coach JIM HARBAUGH and men's basketball coach JUWAN HOWARD "will accept 10% salary reductions from Aug. 1 through the end of the fiscal year." Manuel, Harbaugh and Howard are "among the 'senior-level administrators' and 'many head coaches' who will accept the 10% pay-cut" (DETROIT FREE PRESS, 6/30).

HONORS & AWARDS: The Hockey HOF announced that longtime Vancouver-based writer TONY GALLAGHER "will receive the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award for excellence in hockey and that longtime play-by-play announcer RICK PECKHAM will receive the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award for outstanding contributions as a hockey broadcaster" (L.A.
