MLB Rangers Preparing To Host Fans At Globe Life Field This Season

The MLB Rangers are "scurrying along in Arlington preparing to be perhaps one of just two teams," along with the Astros, to allow fans into games, "thanks to Texas' aggressive policy on reopening the economy," according to Evan Grant of the DALLAS MORNING NEWS. After Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced that pro sports venues could operate at up to 50% capacity, sources said that MLB officials "indicated the Rangers would be allowed fans." Full capacity at Globe Life Field is 40,300, which would give the Rangers the chance to host 20,000 fans. Grant notes the Rangers are "moving forward" accordingly. The team late last week "sent out a questionnaire to season-ticket holders querying them on their preferences on such things as their comfort level with masks and what fans feel is the appropriate social distancing standards inside the park" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 6/23).
