IndyCar's Doubleheader At Road America Gets One Race On NBC

NBC Sports is placing one of the races for next month’s IndyCar doubleheader at Road America on NBC. Road America worked out a deal with IndyCar to host a doubleheader as a way for the series to make up a race after it was forced to cancel its annual street race in Toronto due to the coronavirus pandemic. Road America’s race weekend was moved back from June to the mid July slot that Toronto previously held as part of the move, and NBC Sports now says it will place the Sunday race on NBC, including a half hour of pre-race coverage, while the Saturday event will be on NBCSN. This means that three of the first four races of IndyCar’s revised season will now be on broadcast TV. IndyCar started its season earlier this month at Texas, and it will resume the campaign in early July at IMS before traveling to Road America, which is allowing fans for the doubleheader weekend. NBC will announce this move later today.
