Synergy Sports Will Track America East Basketball Players

The America East Conference has partnered with Synergy Sports Technology to help basketball coaches analyze player performance during practices and games. Synergy’s automated camera system will be deployed at basketball arenas for all 18 America East schools.

The partnership covers both men’s and women’s basketball. Synergy’s cloud-based software platform can be used to tag, archive and edit video clips. Coaches can also access advanced statistics such as play types, player behaviors and game situations.

“Coaches will have more time to build relationships and maximize their time with their players by removing time spent wasted on breaking down film. Instead, it allows coaches to make real-time adjustments, which is a great asset to player development,” said Maine men’s basketball assistant coach Edniesha Curry, in a press release

Synergy’s platform is widely used by scouting and player development staff across NCAA basketball, the NBA and the WNBA. The company’s baseball analytics system is also used by MLB teams and 200 NCAA Division I baseball programs. Synergy was acquired by Atrium Sports in December.
