ESPN, Peloton Partner For Live Ride Event With Pro Athletes

ESPN on Saturday "plans to dedicate an entire hour of programming to feature people riding stationary bicycles," as the net will air Peloton's "first Pro-Athlete All-Star Ride" at noon ET, according to Adrianne Pasquarelli of AD AGE. The two 20-minute sessions will feature athletes "including Allyson Felix, Rory McIlroy and Bubba Watson," and it will be moderated by Peloton instructor Ally Love and ESPN's Ryan Ruocco. The event "marks the first time 8-year-old Peloton has invested in a media collaboration like this." A "ride with Peloton, which has surged during the pandemic as more consumers exercise at home," could help ESPN "fill the void" of live sports programming (ADAGE.com, 5/27).
